Old Business

Reports from Coordinators
Rug Show – Fiber Arts Show
Our show is included in the First Friday Art Walk. Our Opening Reception is October 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The show will be up October 1-31 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Cheryl and others will hang the show September 30th. All pieces to be entered in the show should be at the Studio  by September 21 to avoid them being in the way during our Open House sale September 28-29th.
Bring food for Opening Reception by 4pm October 4th to the church so there is time to put the goodies out on serving trays. The church is supplying us with plates, utensils, cups and glassware. We will need some workers to stay following the show to make sure all is cleaned up and restored to its proper place.
Wendy Weiss, Professor at UNL Textiles will be our judge.
Invitation cards for both our Open House and the Opening Reception are available on the table. Take what you need. If you want to send both to one person, use an envelope for 46 cents. One card costs 33 cents to mail without the envelope.  MUST have a return address on cards or they don’t go anywhere – won’t be delivered. There are return address stickers for the studio at the studio.
Posters – Sue will make more and leave them on the table.  Please take them to various shops, coffee houses, churches, etc. and ask to post them so more people will know about our show.

Reports from Task Groups:
Membership, Facility, and Finance groups have finished their tasks. Education, Organizational Structure, and Outreach are ongoing.
Cheryl mentioned that we need more weavers and spinners to step up and be willing to teach classes. Right now we have John, Cheryl, and Catherine teaching, and Victoria teaching spindle spinning when there is a need for it.  To maintain our classes, we need more teachers so the ones teaching now can have a break.

Victoria purchased four looms at the University auction for $17.50 each. None of them are for the Guild. There will be another auction and we can look then to see if we need to purchase a loom at these wonderful prices.
