Guild Minutes February 12, 2011

The meeting was called to order by John.

Attending: Jan Tooker, Victoria Hilton, Jean Whitmore, Jan Jaecks, Catherine Easton, Cheryl Rennick Lori Beck, Gary Higgins, Mary Howell, Sue Ranta, Judy Johnson and John Geppert.

Catherine shared Valentines candy with the group. Being chocolate, it was gone quickly.

A notebook for loom and spinning wheel rentals will be kept in the office. Blank forms are in the back.

Books may be borrowed for up to three months and then must be renewed if no one is waiting for it. If you want to use a book that is checked out, call that person to let them know and then leave them a sticky note on the check out card.

Studio fees are due in January. Cheryl will notify those who are delinquent.

When a loom is returned, please mark it “Available for use”” so others know they can use it.

Mary noted that we need to catalog our magazines so we can save them. Victoria offered some magazine storage items.

We need to purchase fire extinguishes, one for each room, to handle any electrical fires.

Judy Lutchen wants to buy a table loom if anyone has one to sell.

Ellen Kamil’s funeral service is March 12 at 4:00 pm. Please RSVP.

Ellen’s family has a loom to give us, and Russell is donating an 8 harness, 45” Loomcraft loom.

Camp Creek is July 16 nd 17. We will demonstrate there. Jan T requests half day shifts.

Saturday, March 19 Catherine will hold a basket workshop. Supplies cost $25. Class will be 9 am to 5 pm, with a teaching assistant in the morning and Catherine teaching starting at noon. Bring your lunch.

Sharon Vandenack brought in a large donation of yarn for sale. Write down what you pay (your donation) in the sales book.

Cheryl reported she renewed our two-year corporate not for profit status.

Jan Jaecks showed us a Friendship quilt and other pieces that were made by 15 weavers between 1985-89.

Suggested group project - squares to assemble together?? Overshot, Lace?? Ten people have volunteered to work on the project. Options for group project includes Coverlet, Towels, Place Mats, Runner, Napkins, Shawls. We need to decide on weave - Overshot, Huck Lace, Summer/Winter, Twill, Rosepath, repweave.

March 12 meeting to decide what to do.
